Caño Cristales, located within the Sierra de la Macarena National Natural Park, is one of the unique experiences in Colombia. It has been classified as the most beautiful river in the world and the river of 7 colors thanks to the Macarena Clavijera, an endemic aquatic plant that turns into different colors depending on the surrounding conditions. The color season begins on June 15 and ends on November 15, when the river bed is abundant and the algae are at their maximum splendor.

You cannot take with you stones, plants or some type of material that is property of the natural heritage.
National Parks, prohibits the entry of children under 5 years of age to the park to carry out trails.
It is important that you know that during the tours you can take recreational baths in designated places, which your guide will always let you know.
The itinerary could have modifications due to the load capacity of the trails, which are assigned by the local environmental entities.

Itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrival to la Macarena. National Park talk and initial briefing to start the trip. Boat ride on the Guayabero River to La Cachivera port. Hike to Laguna del Silencio - Horseback riding and llanero sunset in Potrillo. We will sleep in a rural lodging on Laguna del Silencio.

DAY 2 - Tour to Cristales Selva. We will enter the park through a different entrance than the conventional one, by the mouth of the river towards the Pailones sector where we will find the green plants in the middle of stone canyons.We will go to Los Ochos, Piscina del Turista and Carol Cristal - Symbols of Caño Cristales. We will sleep in La Manigua Ecolodge, on the banks of the Guayabero River and considered to be the best lodging in the region. (This is subject to availability - otherwise we will sleep in a rural lodge inside National Parks or in a community lodge in El Raudal)

DAY 3 - We will go to El Raudal community (depending on the availability of National Parks), on the border of La Macarena National Park and Tinigua National Park. From there we will walk to Ciudad de Piedra. We will hike along the Raudal trail (assigned by the environmental authority), return to the town, lodging at Hotel la Fuente or similar (Best facilities found in La Macarena). Optional: "Parrando llanero".

DAY 4 - Breakfast and tours in the town of La Macarena, such as Caño Piedra and the viewpoints. End of the trip.
