La Boquilla is a fishing village that for more than 200 years has continued in a heroic fight of cultural resistance to preserve its ancestral traditions, in which the drums play a leading role. We invite you on an exciting tour to meet and play these Afro-Colombian drums in their habitat: Play, even if you don't play, dance, even if you don't dance, sing and even if you don't sing! Together we can do it! The workshop lasts about an hour and is a unique opportunity to connect with the typical Afro-Colombian rhythms of the region's folk music, such as cumbia, mapalé and champeta. The team from the Batambora Drum Workshop School offers you an extraordinary experience. First a little theory, then the presentation and finally the interaction: the performance of the drums. Batambora is a project led by young entrepreneurs from the Afro-descendant community of La Boquilla, committed to human and economic development that is aimed at rescuing and preserving the cultural traditions of African heritage. We like to support young people who want to make a difference, we invite you to experience it!
