The Baru Peninsula is a 45 minute boat ride from Cartagena and is famous for its white sandy beaches and turquoise, crystal clear water that allows perfect visibility for scuba diving and snorkeling.
This mini-course is designed for people who have not dived before or are not certified but want to venture out to explore the underwater landscape and start training amidst corals, reef fish and all kinds of marine treasures, including 7 sunken ships from colonial times.
PADI qualified instructors will teach you theory and practice in a pool in Cartagena before going to the sea, so you will learn how to breathe and equalize the pressure in your ears; lose your fear and feel safe. As every dive day you will leave Cartagena at 7am and return at 1:30 pm, you will have the whole afternoon to explore the city and walk through its magical streets full of history.
If you are in Baru or Isla Grande we have a transfer service to take you from there to the dive site. The first dive is done in confined waters, and the second in open sea.
Also, if you dream of getting certified, you can get credits! If your Discover Scuba Diving program includes an actual open water dive, your experience can count towards your PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification.
