Itinerary

DAY 1.

We will start our tour from the oldest city in Colombia, Santa Marta, at 8:15 A.M. in a 4x4 vehicle that will drive us to the sector of Mamey (Machete Pelao). After two hours of travel we arrive at Mamey where we will have lunch and then start a 7.6 KM hike to the first campsite in Cabaña de Adán, the community where we will spend the night at 450 meters above sea level. This first day of hiking is demanding, so we recommend receiving instructions from the guide attentively.

We will also stop at a crystal clear river for a refreshing swim.

Some people complete the hike in three hours, others in five. It all depends on your physical condition.

DAY 2.

We will begin a walk of approximately 4 hours from Adam's hut to the Wiwa hut, located at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. Here we will rest.

In this tour we will appreciate a good part of the flora and fauna of our Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. In the afternoon we can relax and take a bath in the river and enjoy a beautiful waterfall.

In the evening the indigenous guide will share with us the history and customs of their community and the region.

DAY 3

We will have an early breakfast and then start the hike to the third camp (Cabaña Paraiso Teyuna) located at an altitude of 830 m above sea level. Here we will be at the foot of Teizhuna (Teyuna). In this tour we will appreciate a good part of the fauna and flora of our Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. In the afternoon we will be able to relax and take a bath in the Buritaca River. At night we will camp and the guide will talk more about Ciudad Perdida and its sacred meaning for the indigenous people of the Sierra.

DAY 4

After breakfast we will leave at 7 A.M. to Ciudad Perdida. To get to the sacred city we will climb the 1200 steps built by the ancient Tayronas and after approximately one hour we will arrive. We will make a tour of two hours and 20 minutes by its different sacred sites.

At the end of the tour we will descend to the Paraíso Teyuna camp where we will have lunch and rest for a while and then continue our descent to the second camp Cabaña Wiwa.

Day 5

The last day of the adventure begins with breakfast to continue the way back to the point where it all began. On the way we will find rivers and waterfalls to refresh ourselves until finally arriving at Mamey, where we will have lunch and our 4x4 vehicle will be waiting for us to return to the city of Santa Marta, where we will arrive around 5 P.M. having enjoyed an enriching and new experience of the magical Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Note: The itinerary of the tour varies depending on weather conditions and means of ground transportation.
