Recommendations

● WEATHER During the day you will feel constant sun and breeze (30–36 °C), at night it is usually much colder than normal (20-25 °C), if you are sensitive to cold, you could bring an additional blanket so you can rest peacefully.

●The RANCHERIAS: The cabins in Cabo de La Vela have better infrastructure, but in Punta Gallinas you will find more basic conditions and in La Macuira you will find the best conditions. Many of them maintain their typical construction with Yotojoro and mud, while others are already intervened with cement, bricks and roofs.

●VEHICLES: Our trips can be private or shared with 5 people, in air-conditioned 4x4 cars with current and contractual license plates, insurance, up-to-date taxes and drivers with a verified driver's license.

●FOOD: Your trip includes the typical food of the region, mainly fish. For some dishes you can easily choose the options that you like the most. From now on, if you like something in particular let us know so we can be prepared, you can choose vegetarian or vegan dishes too.

●Travel seasons: If you travel in January, December, July or August there will be many more travelers than in other months, which is why the times for your meals tend to have some delays, we take care of planning everything before your trip so that it is on time for you , so we appreciate your patience and understanding. October is the rainy month, so access to the desert will have many restrictions.

●Your  Baggage: Please bring only what is necessary, a small personal suitcase, because the trunk of the truck is small and it is important to use it to also carry the food for the desert and the garbage on the way back. In case you want to store part of your luggage in our hostel, you can do it without any additional charge..

●Te waste we generate: At the destination there is a problem of waste management because there are many rural areas within the department and the infrastructure is basic, so keep in mind the following recommendations:

●Avoid using plastic cups, straws, disposable spoons, water bottles or plastic bags during your trip.

●Please return all the garbage that you generate at the destination and if during your journey, it is easy for you to pick up a plastic bottle or bag, do not hesitate to do so, in the car you will find garbage bags where you can bring it back to Riohacha where We will put it to proper use.
