The Gorgona National Natural Park is a small paradise of diversity that is visible from the high seas when the lush rain forest descends from the small cloudy peaks to the intense blue of the mysterious waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The Park is made up of two islands, Gorgona and Gorgonilla, which received the name of Francisco Pizarro in 1527; Since his men were bitten by many snakes, he compared them to the female monsters of Greek mythology. There are also indications of a 13th century BC pre-Columbian settlement. that is fundamental for the understanding of the ethnohistory of the region.

Gorgona offers excellent scenarios for diving, thanks to the richness of its ecosystems. This plan is designed for certified divers. We recommend to have de advanced course.

Recommendations

For diving plans, a diver's certificate must be presented.
Always travel on the roads and trails established on land and waterways.
We recommend the company of a local guide or interpreter.
Carry identity documents and current medical insurance.
The tetanus and yellow fever vaccine are recommended ten days before the trip.
For safety, you must inform yourself in advance of the places suitable for swimming.
Find out about the established times for admission and visits to the park, some trails only open at specific times.
Keep the trash you generate during your visit and remove it when you leave the protected area, including biodegradable waste.
Pets of any kind are not allowed in the Park, they will not be allowed to enter.
Do not supply food or leave residues on the road so you won´t change the diet of the species.
In order not to disturb the tranquility of animal species, the use of flash should be turned off.
Avoid carrying harmful elements to biodiversity such as aerosols or non-biodegradable cleaning elements.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited inside the Park.
You cannot carry firearms and implements used for hunting, fishing and logging as these activities are totally prohibited in protected areas.
Bird watching requires minimal disturbance, so the use of binoculars is required to admire their behavior and beauty.
The Gorgona Park is one of the mating, breeding and feeding sites for the humpback whale, for this reason, the persecution of individuals from boats is prohibited; They can only be seen in fortuitous encounters, during which visitors must follow the recommendations according to the regulations. And others that are suggested and / or stipulated by National Natural Parks of Colombia. The itinerary and scheduled activities are subject to the weather conditions of the day. Keep in mind that the dates selected for entering and leaving the island must coincide with the movement of the boat, these movements are Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Days of entry or exit other than those scheduled will have an additional cost and will be handled as an express boat.
