¡13 days in Colombia for the adventurous explorer!
Walk through the streets of Bogotá and Cartagena, reach the top of Mavecure Hill and experience the magic of the savannahs and riverbeds of the Orinoco River.
The Orinoco River is as legendary as it sounds. Its sunsets are epic, its geography unique and imposing, and the natural beauty that grows along its banks has inspired explorers from around the world for hundreds of years.
This adventure begins by hiking through the ancestral routes of the Muisca Culture in Chingaza National Park, characterized by its lagoons, wildlife and unique Andean páramo ecosystem.
We will then embark on a journey to the Orinoco. We will arrive in Puerto Carreño and navigate the Inírida River to reach the Mavecure, Mono and Pajarito Hills, three monumental rock formations that are part of the Guyanese shield, and are sacred to several ethnic groups in this region.
For six days we will make our way through the savannahs of the Amazonía and Orinoquía regions, swim in its rivers, reach the top of Mavecure Hill and meet the local community. We will bathe in the red waters of the Atabapo River (home to pink dolphins), visit nature reserves and explore the Tuparro National Natural Park.
During our stop in Cartagena we will visit the traditional Bazurto market, connect with the Afro-Colombian musical heritage through a percussion workshop and relax on the beach of a Caribbean island.
In Bogota we will be greeted with salsa lessons, Colombian coffee tastings and a tour of the city's most emblematic sites.
