IN EL ALMEJAL WE ALL TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER
In El Almejal we have been evolving since 1982, today we are aware that cooperation and solidarity are fundamental to get out of the current emergency situation. Bahia Solano is a NON MASSIVE tourist destination, which significantly reduces human interactions and risks. Our tours are to pristine locations. However, due to the pandemic situation of covid-19, and the sanitary emergency declared by the Colombian government, we adapted the guidelines of the Colombian Ministry of Health to design the Protocol of Hygiene and Bioprotection of El Almejal.
We accepted the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and local and national entities:
1. Hand Washing
2. Social Distancing
Adequate use of masks and PPE, but we will continue to be attentive to new recommendations to be updated and current in the systematic process of reopening.
To be sustainable we base our operation on the 4 pillars of ecotourism, and today we have new challenges to include biosecurity pillars, so that your stay in El Almejal is, besides unforgettable and sustainable, reliable and safe.
We would like to share here the general measures we have implemented so that you can enjoy peace of mind during your stay with us. We apologize if any of these measures are uncomfortable or inconvenient for you, we hope your understanding and patience, as they correspond to the mitigation of the global pandemic situation of covid19.

Signage and instructions in common areas and cabins.
Protocol for employees according to their position with delivery of PPE.

QUALITY AND HYGIENE PROCESS
Continue aiming for quality despite being in such a remote area.
For more than twenty years our food service in the dining room is dish served to the table. We continue with this service.
We designed biosecurity protocols. And we are in re-training for food and beverage handling personnel.
We are refreshing food and beverage reception protocols.
We control the capacity in the hotel and restaurant.
As we are a small, non-mass tourism lodging, it is very rare that our capacity promotes overcrowding. Our cabins are single-family and spacious with a maximum of 4 people, spaced between them to allow privacy. The dining room and bar are open, that is to say, without walls and the tables are sufficiently spaced between them. However, we will provide the measures and signage to ensure the social distance of 1.5 mt both in the tour areas of the Lodge.
COMMUNICATION
Dissemination of protocols and measures taken in each area, both for our guests and visitors as well as for our collaborators. These measures will be communicated through the appropriate channels according to each audience.
They will be sent by mail when a reservation is confirmed.
Clear, visible and accessible signage for everyone.
Training sessions will be held with our staff on biosafety, re-training in quality, food handling, waste management and sustainability.
