This trip has a mission: Reconnecting with the essential. It is designed with nature and community in mind to bring you closer to what is the treasure of the Amazon Jungle: its biodiversity, exuberant geography and vegetation, and the cultures of Pueblos Indígenas that have inhabited the area for centuries.

The main lodge is located in the middle of the jungle so you can be comfortable as you enjoy the beauty and the music of nature. Its menu, as a result of culinary research in the region, is full of local ingredients and a mix of interesting recipes.
In a night hike or in the expedition to the Quebrada Matamata you will see nature in all its glory. Monkeys, birds, owls, colorful frogs, plants that blossom at night or fluorescent mushrooms are part of this wild scenery.
You will also get to know Leticia with a visit to the Indigenous Market, the sight of the hundreds of parrots that visit the town square every day and the beautiful sunset from the viewpoint that overlooks the Amazon River.

When you arrive to Calanoa, in the heart of the jungle you’ll find a garden adorned with palm trees, heliconia flowers and all kinds of fruit trees overlooking the Amazon River where monkeys, butterflies and various species live. The lodge is designed to experience the jungle in a structure inspired by traditional techniques and a contemporary approach.
As an introduction to the adventure, the first night you’ll go on a night hike in the primary forest of the Natural Reserve led by a guide that comes from generations of . You’ll get to listen to the music of thousands of insects, owls and nocturnal monkeys, frogs; and you will see plants that blossom at night and fluorescent mushrooms.

In the morning you’ll participate in a Mud Ritual guided by a traditional doctor that involves a Jungle Bath and a Blue Mud Bath. It is traditionally used as a cleanse from negative situationes. This ritual gives you knowledge and protects you. It reconnects you with the essential.
In the afternoon you’ll go on a hike through Canaloa Natural Reserve to the Quebrada Matamata, at the border with Amacayacu Natural Park, where you will be picked up in a canoe to return to the Reserve.
You’ll enjoy high jungle landscapes, streams, birds, monkeys and possibly mammals. You’ll learn about medicinal plants and about legends and tales from the indigenous view of the forest. Depending on the water level you’ll be able to navigate through the flooded forest.
Day tour in Puerto Nariño. Includes a tour from the Naipata viewpoint and river dolphin watching at the Tarapoto lake.

If Puerto Nariño is not open during your stay, the DAY 3 activity will be replaced by the following:
Morning hike in Mocagua Island, considered part of the Amacayacu Natural Park. Here you’ll see unique flora and fauna species and lakes adorned with the beautiful Victoria Amazónica, the biggest loto flower in the world. If the water level is high, we’ll do the tour in a Canoe.
In the afternoon we will go to the peruvian border looking for pink dolphins and to view the colorful sunset from the Amazon River.
