On this expedition we will meet the Amazonian universe in all its grace: amazing flora and fauna, indigenous cultures, their ancestral ways of living and nature that overflows with emotion.
You will experience the jungle in an unusual way, since in the first lodge (Tanimboca Natural Reserve) you will sleep on the trees in a traditional maloka at 12 meters high. There you will slide into the jungle from above (35 meters) in an exciting Canopy tour.
You will be in contact with rivers, streams and other water currents that go through the jungle like majestic snakes... And speaking of snakes! You will go on nocturnal expeditions accompanied by thousands of wonderful animals, so get ready for a millenary orchestra of bugs, birds, monkeys, frogs and other precious fauna.
In Calanoa (second lodge) you will find a garden of heliconias, fruit trees and palms. You will stay in cabins designed with ethereal and friendly structures that blend in with nature. Here you will taste the culinary traditions of the region, the fresh fish and garden spices.
Throughout the expedition you will meet indigenous communities, who will generously share their harvest wisdom and ancestral traditions such as the mud ritual, that purifies our energies.
You will visit Puerto Nariño and if the weather lets us, you will see the mythical pink dolphins. At the end, we will take you on a city tour of Leticia, and you will spend the night at Waira Suites.
DAY 1
We will pick you up at the Vásquez Cobo airport in Leticia to take you by road to the Tanimboca Natural Reserve where you will enjoy a typical Amazonian lunch with grilled fish. You will meet with the guide to review the activities for the next 2 days and then take a short walk through the jungle to the tree huts where you will spend the night.
After settling in and a short rest, the guide will take you on a night walk through the jungle. At dinner you will eat a delicious "Amazonian pizza" and then the guide will take you back to the tree house.
DAY 2
After breakfast, you will hike through the jungle until you reach a milenary 115 feet tall tree.
An activity full of adventure; you will be able to climb it until you reach a platform where you'll observe the canopy of the jungle or "roof of the jungle". There are four observation platforms at the top of the trees connected by a system of steel cables. The first platform is ascended by climbing a rope 35 meters high, there is also a manual system that climbs people without any physical activity, which allows anyone to reach the canopy of the jungle.
At the end of the ascent there is a crossing between 3 platforms by means of a "Zip line" through which you fly from tree to tree (canopy tour) a first pass of 35 meters distance and the second one of 110 meters distance and a last pass over a hanging bridge at 25 meters distance.
Afterwards, you will make a kayak tour from the entrance of the reserve to the Yahuarkaka stream. This tour lasts approximately 1 hour, depending on the skill of the visitors in the kayak. The final point will be to arrive at the Balneario Restaurant to enjoy a typical lunch of the region.
Return to the lodge on foot and after a well-deserved rest the guide will take you on a night walk full of sounds and emotions where you will be able to know and feel the lively night life of the jungle. Dinner and overnight at the tree house.
DAY 3
After a hearty breakfast you will start the day's expedition. You will visit an indigenous settlement of the Makuna culture located 2 hours walk through the jungle. You will learn a little about their traditions and ways of cultivation. Not far from this place is the Tacana River, ideal for fishing and swimming. In the afternoon you will go to the Maloka where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in hammocks inside the Maloka.
DAY 4
After breakfast. Transfer to the dock and from there transfer by public boat to the Ecolodge of Calanoa, on the edge of the river that borders the Amacayacu National Park, 60 km from Leticia.
When you arrive at Calanoa, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, you will find a garden of palms, heliconias and fruit trees and all kinds of trees facing the Amazon River - home to birds, monkeys, butterflies and a myriad of species and an architecture designed to experience the jungle: ethereal walls and light spaces with hammocks that allow us to open our senses to the jungle without limits.
As an introduction to the adventure, the first night you will have a night walk in the primary forest of the Calanoa Natural Reserve, guided by experts who have known the jungle for generations, who will take you to discover the night of this world that never rests, the sounds of thousands of insects, the songs of frogs, owls and nocturnal monkeys, plants that bloom at night and phosphorescent mushrooms.
The jungle exponentially changes between day and night, and high and low water seasons. Don't forget to bring your flashlights!
DAY 5
In the morning you will enjoy a ritual mud bath, the traditional doctor, first makes a jungle bath, they walk through the forest to a creek and takes passengers making connection with nature, in the creek guests put a blue mud all over the body and then clean themselves bathing in the creek leaving behind problems and negative situations, and connecting to a wise and protective nature.
In the afternoon hike through the Calanoa Natural Reserve to the Matamata stream, bordering the Amacayacu Natural Park, where you will be picked up by canoe to return to Calanoa by water (water level permitting). You will be able to observe high jungle and ravine landscapes, birds, monkeys and possibly some mammals, the adaptations of plants and insects, learn about medicinal plants, legends and myths from the indigenous vision of the forest. In the high water season you will be able to navigate inside the flooded forest, a wonderful experience.
DAY 6
After breakfast, one day tour of Puerto Nariño which includes: tour from the Mirador de Naipata, activity in the Tarapoto Lake where you can see dolphins (according to weather conditions enter Tarapoto or observe from the beaches). Free lunch (not included).
Return by boat to Calanoa. (You can also make the hike to Mocagua without changes in the rates).
In the evening you will have a spiritual experience of smoke blessing and chanting, with the company of the indigenous people.
Afterwards you will enjoy dinner and lodging.
DAY 7
After breakfast and before noon you will be transferred to the Waira Suites hotel where you will spend the night. Lunch is not included so you can take it at the hotel or if you want to go out to the village. In the afternoon you will have a city tour of Leticia that lasts approximately 2 hours.
DAY 8
After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to the Vásquez Cobo airport in Leticia. End of the itinerary.

Calanoa is a natural reserve and we do not accept plastic bottles. For that reason we provide free, pure water. To take care of nature and the environment we do not recommend using aerosols or plastic and reuse as much as possible.
In Leticia there are banks and ATMs, but not in the communities.
The yellow fever vaccine is mandatory as well as a valid medical insurance.
