San Luis is a beautiful municipality of recent foundation, since it was established in 1956, by the inhabitants of Trinidad, after it was burned during the time of bipartisan violence.
It is on the banks of the Pauto river and has a beautiful boardwalk; located two hours from Yopal. It offers several places where you can have indescribable experiences, such as birdwatching, native fauna, paddling in the curiara, horseback riding, enjoying the gastronomy, the musical rhythms of the plain and the local culture.
Hard-working, noble and brave people live in this municipality like Seudiel Gualteros who will guide you to his ranch on the banks of the Pauto River; a magical place, with archaeological interest, full of myths and legends told and sung by this great llanerazo.
From 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
7:00 am- After breakfast, you will depart from the hotel towards the municipality of San Luis de Palenque (2 hours).
9:00 am- You will arrive at the main park to have a delicious drink and a delicious rice bread typical of the area and then take a tour of the Pauto river boardwalk and take some of the best images of the river landscape.
9:30 am- Transfer by 4x4 to La Candelilla farm located on the banks of the Pauto river in the path of Santana, you will be sighting birds through the native savanna ecosystems on a 45-minute tour.
10:30 am- Arrival at the farm, explanation of the tours while you have a delicious llanero coffee.
11:00 am- Enter the Archaeological Ranch to see the findings of the Chiricoas, Guahibos and Achaguas indigenous cultures found in excavations one meter deep.
On an ordinary day Seudiel was digging a hole in his land when he suddenly found rare ceramic pieces with shapes and designs in lines, today these objects are being investigated by the Externado University of Colombia in order to expand the information about its origin.
12:30 am- Typical lunch under the trees that give shade and freshness to the place.
1:45 pm- You will visit the Rancho Museo del hombre Llanero, a place that offers different activities, all focused on the llanera cultural identity, the way of working of our grandparents and our ancestors. Seudiel will give you the pertinent explanations and will sing you some melodies to the rhythm of his musical instrument "el cuatro".
4:00 pm- You will enjoy a snack in the middle of nature and you will rest in comfortable chinchorros listening to the chirping of the birds and perceiving the aroma of the mastranto.
4:30 pm- Return to Yopal.
6:00 pm -Arrival at the hotel.
